Short Service Commission (NT) Course for Law Graduates:

• Minimum 55% aggregate marks in their LLB Degree (three years professional after graduation or five years after 10 plus 2) examination.
• In addition, CLAT PG 2024 Score is mandatory for all candidates (including LLM qualified and LLM appearing candidates) who apply for courses starting in a particular year.
• The candidates should be eligible for registration as an advocate with Bar Council of India/State.
• Candidate should be from a College/University recognized by Bar Council of India.

Note 1: Only those candidates who are holding LLB degree/Marksheet are eligible for registration as an advocate with BAR council of India/State are eligible to apply for this course.

Note 2: All candidates desirous of applying for JAG Entry are mandatorily required to get their CLAT PG 2024 result verified at the Selection Centre prior to conduct of SSB. If any candidate is unwilling/ is unable to get the CLAT PG 2024 result verified, he /she will not be eligible for SSB and their candidature will be cancelled and no representation will be accepted. It is also informed that there is no provision for offline application to be accepted by the Directorate General of Recruiting.

Tenure of Engagement: Short Service Commission will be granted to Male and Female in the regular Army for 14 years i.e. for an initial period of 10 years extendable by a further period of 04 years

Period of Probation: An officer will be on probation for a period of six months from the date he/she receives his/her commission. If he/she is reported on within the probationary period as unsuitable to retain his/her commission, his/her services may be terminated any time whether before or after the expiry of the probationary period.

Age Limit (As on 01 January 2025): 21 to 27 years (Born not earlier than 02 Jan 1998 and not later than 01 Jan 2004; both dates inclusive).

Cost of Training: The entire cost of training at OTA is at Government expense. In case the Lady/Gentlemen cadet is withdrawn from training academy due to reasons other than medical ground or the reasons not beyond his/her control, he/she will be liable to refund cost of training @ ₹ 16260/- (as on 2023) and as notified from time to time per week (for the period of candidate’s stay at the Officers Training Academy, Chennai/Cadet Training Wing). The cost of training is borne by State, will be recovered from cadets withdrawing for personal reasons.

Selection Process of Indian Army Careers:

• Shortlisting of Applications. Integrated HQ of MoD (Army) reserves the right for shortlisting of applications, without assigning any reason.
• After shortlisting of applications, the Centre allotment will be intimated to candidates via their email.
• After allotment of Selection Centre, candidates will have to log in to the website and select their SSB dates which are available on a first come first serve basis initially.
• Thereafter, it will be allotted by the Selection Centres.
• The option to select the dates for SSB by candidates may be forfeited due to occurrence of any exceptional circumstance/events.
• Only shortlisted eligible candidates will undergo SSB at Selection Centres, Allahabad(UP), Bhopal(MP), Bangalore (Karnataka) and Jalandhar (PB).
• Call up letter for SSB interview will be issued by respective Selection Centre on candidate’s registered e-mail id and SMS only.

Merit List:

•  It is to be noted that mere qualifying at the SSB interview does not confirm final selection.

• In case equal SSB marks are obtained by more than one candidate, the older candidate(s) in age will be ranked higher in the merit.
• In case both SSB marks and age of more than one candidate are same, the candidate(s) with higher percentage of marks in qualifying examination will be placed higher in the merit.

Notes:

• Candidates who have passed the requisite Engineering Degree course or are in the final year of the Engineering Degree course are eligible to apply.
• Candidates studying in the final year of Engineeringdegreecourseshould be able to submit proof of passing the Engineering Degree Examination along with mark sheets of all semesters/years by 01 APR 2025 and produce the Engineering Degree Certificate within 12 weeks from the date of commencement of training at Pre-Commissioning Training Academy (PCTA).
• Such candidates will be inducted on a additional Bond Basis to recover the cost of training at Pre-Commissioning Training Academy (PCTA.)

Training:

• Selected candidates will be detailed for training at Officers Training Academy, according to their position in the final order of merit (engineering stream-wise) up to the number of available vacancies and subject to meeting all eligibility criteria.
• Duration of Training- 49 weeks.

Selection Process of Indian Army Careers:

• Integrated HQ of MoD (Army) reserves the right to shortlist applications and to fix the cut-off percentage of marks for each Engineering discipline/stream without assigning any reason. The cut-off will be applied in each stream on the cumulative percentage of marks obtained by the candidates in the final semester/year.
• Final semester/year studying candidates will be provisionally allowed to appear in SSB, subject to the following conditions:
• Their cumulative percentage of marks upto 6th semester/3rd year of Engineering degree, up to the upto8thsemester/4th year of B. Architecture (B. Arch) and upto 2nd semester/1st year of M.Sc in notified equivalent stream/ discipline is not below the approved cutoff Percentage in their respective streams.
• After the declaration of final results,the cumulative percentage of marks upto final semester/ year of the course be not less than the approved cut-off percentage, failing which the candidature will be cancelled.

Merit List: The merit list will be prepared for the engineering stream/subject-wise based on the marks obtained by the candidate at the SSB interview.

NCC (Special) Entry – SSC Officers:

• Degree from a recognized university or equivalent with an aggregate of a minimum of 50% marks, considering marks for all the years.
• Service in NCC: Should have served for at least two/three years (as applicable) in Senior Division/Wg of NCC.
• Grading: Should have obtained a minimum of ‘B’ Grade in the ‘C’ Certificate Exam of NCC. Applicants who do not hold an NCC ‘C’ Cert or Provisional NCC ‘C’ Certificate on the date of application are not eligible to apply for the course. Candidates holding Provisional NCC Certificate on dt of application must obtain NCC ‘C’ Certificate before appearing in SSB. PROVISIONAL NCC ‘C CERTIFICATE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AT SSB.

Period of Probation: An officer will be on probation for six months from the date he/she receives his/her commission. Fixed Stipend for Cadet Training: The gentlemen cadets will be given a stipend of Rs. 56,100/-p.m. as is admissible to NDA cadets on completion of 3 years of training. On completion of 04 years of training, they will be commissioned in the rank of Lt and entitled to pay as admissible to the rank.
