IMU Job Openings 2024: IMU Job Openings 2024 and Application Instructions The Indian Maritime University (IMU) has issued a notification for several positions, including Assistant, Assistant (Finance), Faculty, Workshop Instructor, and Physical Training Instructor. IMU Jobs:

IMU is calling for applications from qualified individuals for the positions of Assistant and Assistant (Finance). Those selected will be placed on the pay matrix level 4. The hiring process will involve interviews. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can apply online by August 30, 2024.

Additionally, IMU is seeking applications for Faculty, Workshop Instructor, and Physical Training Instructor roles. The age range for these positions is 55 to 62 years. About IMU: The Indian Maritime University, a central institution in India, covers a broad spectrum of maritime-related subjects. Educational Qualification:

Faculty: 

Marine Engineering:

Essential: 

• MEO Class – I (Motor) Certificate of Competency granted by the Directorate General of Shipping, Government of India.
• Sailing experience of at least six months at the management level is in accordance with the STCW Convention, as amended.
• Certificate for VICT/TOTA Course or a commitment to complete it prior to joining.

Desirable:

• Six months of instructional or training experience at Maritime Training Institutes in India.
• AECS Course Certification.
• TSTA Course Certification.

Duties:

• Instruction or training in Pre-sea Courses (B.Tech [Marine Engineering] & PGDME) and Post-Sea Courses (Competency, Modular, and Simulator) OR
• Instruction/training in Post-Sea Courses and Competency Courses (Maharashtra Maritime Board)

Nautical Science:

Essential:

• Master (Foreign Going) Certificate of Competency issued by the Directorate General of Shipping, Government of India.
• At least six months of sailing experience at the management level in accordance with the STCW Convention, as updated.
• VICT/TOTA Course Certificate or a commitment to complete it before starting.

Desirable:

• Six months of instructional or training experience at Maritime Training Institutes in India.
• Certification in the AECS Course.
• Certification in the TSTA Course.

Duties:

• Instruction or training in Post-Sea Courses (Competency, Modular, and Simulator) OR
• Instruction or training in Post-Sea Courses and Competency Courses recognized by the Maharashtra Maritime Board.

Workshop Instructor

Electrical Engineering:

Essential:

• A 3-year Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from an institution accredited by the All India Council of Technical Education OR
• PO/CPO/MCPO in the Electrical Branch of the Indian Navy or Coast Guard OR
• Electrician or ETO from the Merchant Navy
• VICT/TOTA Course Certification or willingness to complete it.

Desirable: Relevant work experience for 1 year

Duties:

• Training of Inland Vessel Personnel
• Instructing students or supporting faculty in workshops/simulators, etc.
• Maintenance, enhancement, and care of workshop equipment and devices
• Project-related tasks
• Sailing experience

Marine Engineering:

Essential:

• Marine Fitter from the Merchant Navy OR
• PO/CPO/MCPO of the Marine Engineering Branch from the Indian Navy/Coast Guard OR
• Near Coastal Voyage (NCV) Class IV Engineer AND
• VICT/TOTA Course Certification or readiness to complete it.

Desirable: Relevant work experience for 06 months

Duties:

• To teach students or support faculty in workshops and simulators
• Maintenance, enhancement, and care of workshop equipment and devices
• Training for Inland Vessel Crews
• Project-related tasks
• Sailing experience

Physical Traning Instructor:

Essential:

• Chief or Petty Officer from the Physical Training Branch, or a Petty Officer with a PT qualification OR
• A graduate in Physical Education with at least 55% marks and experience in playing a sport at the State or National level.

Desirable: Professional Qualification from the Navy

Experience: Relevant work experience for 1 year

Duties:

• To oversee Cadets during morning physical training and exercises, as well as evening field games and gym workouts.
• He/She should deliver fundamental physical training to Cadets by demonstrating various exercises and techniques, and explain and enforce safety rules and regulations..

Age Limit (01 August 2024):

• Faculty: Preferably under 62 years of age
• Workshop Instructor: Preferably under 57 years of age
• Physical Training Instructor: Preferably under 55 years of age
