About arche noVa East Africa

Since 2012, arche noVa has established a Coordination Development Office in Eastern Africa, supporting activities in Kenya, Somalia, Ethiopia, Uganda, Somaliland, and Sudan. The organization’s diverse initiatives include the construction of sustainable water structures, water quality improvement, hygiene promotion, latrine construction, and climate-smart agriculture.

Position: Finance Assistant

Job Description :

Objective 1: Supporting Financial Management

  • Verify monthly financial reports from local partners.
  • Ensure accuracy in project cash and bank balances.
  • Validate the eligibility of invoices.
  • Monitor the presence of essential supporting documents.
  • Liaise with Program Officers for monthly budget balance updates.
  • Provide support for financial reporting and document filing.

Objective 2: Monthly Account Consolidation

  • Organize and support the annual audit.
  • Reconcile funds sent to the field monthly.

Objective 3: Bank Tasks

  • Conduct bank reconciliation for assigned projects monthly.

Objective 4: Technical Support

  • Track project deadlines and inform relevant Project Managers.
  • Assist in drafting financial reports for submission to donors and arche noVa Headquarters.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Commerce in Finance or Accounting.
  • CPA K certification.
  • 3 years of experience in a busy finance and accounting department.
  • Prior experience in NGOs/INGOs.

Skills and Experience

  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and under pressure.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Proficient in computer skills.
  • Willingness to travel to remote areas in Kenya, Uganda, and Ethiopia.
