Indian Air Force Recruitment 2024: The Indian Air Force has announced notification for the Lower Division Clerk (LDC)/Hindi Typist/ Civilian Mechanical Transport Driver (Ordinary Grade) posts. There are 182 vacancies available for these posts. Candidates with 10th/12th qualifications are eligible to apply for these posts. Interested and eligible candidates can apply by post on or before 02 September 2024. The detailed eligibility and selection process for IAF Careers are given below.

IAF Recruitment 2024:

Applications are invited from eligible Indian citizens to recruit the following Group ‘C’ Civilian posts at the various Air Force Stations/Units mentioned below. The eligible candidates may address their application to the concerned Stations/Units. The age limit for these posts is 18 to 25 years. The selected candidates will be paid at pay level 2. The selection process will be based on a written test. Interested and eligible candidates can apply by post on or before 02 September 2024. 

Indian Air Force: It was founded on 8 October 1932 and its headquarters is in New Delhi. It is the fourth among the air forces of the world, and its primary mission is to secure Indian airspace and to conduct aerial warfare during armed conflict. The major operations undertaken by the Indian Air Force include Operation Vijay, Operation Meghddot, Operation Cactus and Operation Poomalai.

IAF Indian Air Force Recruitment 2024 for LDC/Typist:

Educational Qualification:

Group C:

Lower Division Clerk (LDC)/Hindi Typist:

• 12th pass
• Skill Test norms on computer English typing @ 35 words per minute (WPM), or Hindi typing @ 30 words per minute(WPM) (35 words per minute(WPM) and 30 words per minute(WPM) correspond to 10500 Key Depressions per hour or 9000 Key Depressions per hour on an average of 5 Key Depressions for each word)

Civilian Mechanical Transport Driver (Ordinary Grade):

• Matriculation or equivalent qualification from a recognized board or university.
• Must be holding a valid Civil Driving Licence for light heavy vehicle (LMV) and heavy vehicle (HMV).
• Must possess professional driving skills and basic knowledge of motor mechanisms.
• Minimum of two years of experience driving motor vehicles.

Age Limit (As on 02 September 2024): 18 to 25 years

Age Relaxation:

• OBC: 03 years
• SC/ST: 05 years
• 10 years for the candidates belonging to Physically Handicapped. (Additional 05 years in case of Physically Handicapped belonging to SC, ST & 03 years for OBC category)
• Ex-servicemen: Ex-servicemen who have rendered not less than 06 months of continuous service in the Armed Forces shall be allowed to deduct the full period of such service from their actual age, and if the resultant age does not exceed the prescribed maximum age by more than three years, they shall be deemed to be within age limits.
• Departmental Employees:
  • 40 years for UR
  • 43 years for OBC
  • 45 years for SC/ST

Salary Details:

• Lower Division Clerk (LDC): Level-2 as per Pay Matrix 7th CPC
• Hindi Typist: Level-2 as per Pay Matrix 7th CPC
• Civilian Mechanical Transport Driver (Ordinary Grade): Level-2 as per Pay Matrix 7th CPC

Selection Process of IAF Careers:

• The selection process will be based on a written test.
• The eligible candidates will be required to appear for a written test.
• The written test will be based on minimum education qualification.
• The question cum answer paper will be in English and Hindi.
• The requisite number of candidates will be shortlisted and called for skill/physical/practical tests wherever applicable based on merit/category in the written test.
• The marking system will be as follows:
  • Written Test – 100% (weightage)
  • Skill/Practical/Physical Test – Qualifying only
• The centre for examination/skill/practical/physical test will be intimated to the candidate in due course.
