Applications are invited from unmarried eligible men & women candidates for the grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in Information Technology (Executive Branch) of the Indian Navy under the Special Naval Orientation Course for course commencing Jan 2025 onwards at Indian Naval Academy (INA) Ezhimala, Kerala. Educational Qualification:

SSC Executive (Information Technology):

• Applicants must have a minimum of 60% marks in English in class X or XII and one of the undermentioned educational qualifications with a minimum of 60% overall qualifying marks, in either or a combination of the following:
• M.Sc/B.E/B.Tech/M.Tech (Computer Science/ Computer Science & Engineering/Computer Engineering/IT/Software Systems/Cyber Security/ System Administration & Networking/Computer Systems & Networking/Data Analytics/Artificial Intelligence)  OR
• MCA with BCA/B.Sc (Computer Science/ IT).

NCC Candidates: NCC ‘C’ certificate holders will be given a relaxation of 5% in cut-off marks towards short Listing for SSB subject to meeting the following criteria:

• Having NCC ‘C’ Certificate of Army/Naval/Air Wing with Min ‘B’ Grade.
• Served for not less than two academic years in the NCC’s senior division of the Naval/Army/Air Wing.
• ‘C’ certificate should not be dated before 01.01.2022

Who can apply?

• Candidates who have graduated or are in the final year (regular/integrated) with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA.
• The university for those mentioned above should be incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational Institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be Universities!
• Candidates who have obtained a degree in Engineering (regular/integrated) with 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA/System from such foreign University!
• The government of India should recognize the University/College/Institution for an Engineering Degree/equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universite established under the AIU Act 1973.

Training: 

• Candidates will be inducted into the rank of Sub Lieutenant.
• Selected candidates will undergo a six-week Naval Orientation Course at the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala.
• This will be followed by professional training at Naval Ships and training establishments as per extant regulations.

Probation Period: 02 years

Age Limit for Indian Navy Jobs: Born between 02 January 2000 and 01 July 2005 (both dates inclusive).

Selection Process of Indian Navy Jobs:

• The selection process will be based on shortlisting and SSB interviews.
• Shortlisting of applications will be based on normalized marks obtained by the candidates in the qualifying degree.
• B.E/B.Tech: For candidates who have completed or are in the final year of B.E/B.Tech, marks obtained up to the fifth semester will be considered for SSB shortlisting.
• Post-Graduate Degree Programme: For candidates who have completed M.Sc/MCA/M.Tech, marks obtained in all semesters will be considered. For final year students pursuing M.Sc./MCA/M.Tech marks obtained till pre-final year will be considered.
• Shortlisted candidates will be informed about their shortlisting for SSB interviews through e-mail or SMS (provided by candidates in their application forms). Candidates are advised not to change their email mobile number until the selection process ends.
• Candidates are to download the call-up letter on receiving information from NHQ/DMPR via SMS/e-mail (provided by candidates in their application). Any correspondence regarding the change of SSB dates should be addressed to the concerned SSB’s call-up officer upon receipt of the call-up letter.

Merit list:

• A merit list would be prepared based on SSB marks. 
• Candidates declared fit in the medical examination would be appointed subject to police verification, character verification & availability of vacancies in the entry.

Chargeman (Ammunition Workshop):

• Bachelor of Science in Physics, Chemistry, or Mathematics from a recognised university or institution. OR
• Diploma Holders In Chemical Engineering from a recognised University or Board.

Chargeman (Factory)

• Bachelor of Science in Physics, or Chemistry, or Mathematics from a recognised university or institution.  OR

Chargeman (Mechanic):

Draughtsman (Construction):

• Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized Institution or Board;
• Two years’ Certificate in Draughtsmanship from an Industrial Training Institute or equivalent recognized Institution OR three years apprenticeship under the Apprenticeship Training Scheme in Draughtsmanship OR ITI certificate and two years Trade Apprentice Training with a certificate of All India Trade Test conducted by National Council of Vocational Training in the trades of Shipwright/ Welder/ Platter/ Sheet Metal/ Ship Fitter

Selection Process of Indian Navy Jobs:

• The selection process will be based on a computer-based examination.
• All shortlisted/ eligible candidates will have to appear in the online computer-based examination consisting of multiple choice questions in both English & Hindi (except for General English) as follows.
• The duration will be for 90 minutes.
• The online test’s exact date, time and venue will be communicated to the candidates on their registered mobile number/e-mail ID.

Conduct of Physical Standard and Endurance Test: 

• For the post of ‘Fireman’ and ‘Fire Engine Driver’ candidates will be shortlisted for the Physical Standard and Endurance Test (qualifying in nature) based on the marks obtained in the examination in the order of merit.
• Qualified candidates will be considered for further selection process

Provisional Appointment Letter: The appointment of provisionally selected candidates will be strictly based on their relative merit position in online examination subject to verification of documents, Medical Examination and other requirements as specified by the Government of India and Appointing Authority.

Document Verification: 

• All documents about age, education, identity, address, category, caste validity certificate, ITI certificate etc. will be scrutinized and verified as per extant DoP&T policy.
• Date and Venue for document verification will be intimated to the provisionally selected candidates on their registered mobile phone/e-mail IDs and by post.
